At what age can penis pumps be used?

  • Penis pumps are used by men of all ages to improve their sexual performance. Our customer age range is 18-90 years old.

Why do men use penis pumps?

  • Men use penis pumps to enhance their sexual performance, improve their erection quality, and confidence in the bedroom. You can use a penis pump before sexual intercourse to achieve a larger, harder erection for sex. Others use a penis pump as a regular exercise to gain larger, harder erections. Most men report gains and improved erection quality after only a few weeks of consistent use of Dr. Joel Kaplan’s penis pumps. Men with Peyronie’s disease or curved penises also use penis pumps. Some men use penis pumps as a form of masturbation or kink.

How do penis pumps work?

  • Penis pumps use light vacuum pressure to attract blood flow into the penis, resulting in a larger, harder erection. They are used regularly by men who have penile atrophy, shrinkage due to age, or mild curvature.

Are penis pumps safe?

  • Yes, penis pumps are a safe and non-invasive method for erection enhancement. Penis pumps have been in use for over a century by men with erectile dysfunction, curvature, and enhancement of sexual pleasure. All Dr. Joel Kaplan penis pumps include a safety pressure gauge so you can control the vacuum pressure used to attract blood flow into the penis, leading to a bigger, harder erection. This ensures your safety and protects you from damaging your penile tissue. Other penis pumps do not include pressure controls or a safety gauge. Those pumps can be dangerous and cause physical injury.

I have some medical issues, is it safe to use a penis pump?

  • Penis pumps are safe and prescribed by doctors for erection health. If you have a blood disorder, penis pumps may not be a safe option. Contact your doctor before use. If you have a penile implant, you cannot use a penis pump. If you had surgery on your penis, ask your doctor when you can start using a penis pump. If you are concerned about other medical issues, contact your physician before using a penis pump.

I am not circumcised, can I still use a penis pump?

  • Yes, it does not matter if you are circumcised, the pump will work for you.

What does penis pumping feel like?

  • Penis pumping is a safe and pleasurable method for male enhancement. The suction creates a pleasurable tension around your penis. Some men use penis pumps for masturbation because it feels so good. If you encounter any pain or discomfort, just decrease the pressure. Penis pumping should be a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

When will I see results?

  • You will see results after the very first time you use it. Based on feedback from our satisfied customers, you’ll get a bigger erection every time you pump. Some of our customers have stated after a few weeks of consistent pumping, they start to maintain those results permanently. Most of our customers state they achieve maximum size after 10-12 months of consistent pumping.

Are the results permanent?

  • Based on feedback provided by satisfied customers who consistently use the pump, they have stated they start to maintain those results permanently.

How much bigger will I get?

  • Average reported gains by satisfied customers are 1-3 inches in length and up to 25% in thickness after 10-12 months. Most men report faster gains in thickness than length.

How often should I pump?

  • You can use a penis pump as often as you need to achieve a bigger, harder erection for sex. For improved erection quality and size over time, we recommend following one of two exercise programs that is included with Dr. Joel Kaplan pump systems every other day for about 20 minutes.

What is the difference between the Electric Pump and the Manual Hand Pump?

  • The Electric Pump automatically pumps for you. It detects if the pressure changes, and will adjust the pressure to the preset you choose. Most men prefer the Electric Pump because it is a hands-free pumping experience, making penis pumping convenient, easy, and pleasurable.

What is the difference between an air pump and a water pump?

  • Both water pumps and air pumps use vacuum pressure to bring blood flow into the penis. However, water pumps can only be used in the shower. Most importantly, it is not safe to pump without a pressure gauge. Water pumps do not come with a pressure gauge - it's like driving a car without a speedometer! Most men over-pump and hurt themselves because they don't know how much pressure is inside the pump! Never buy a pump without a pressure gauge.

Why is sizing important? Do you have a universal size?

  • Most penis pumps use a “one-size-fits-all” approach that is less effective, by using a rubber gasket (aka a pump sleeve) at the base of the pump. However, Dr. Kaplan developed special sizing for his pump systems to optimize results. This restriction-free design allows maximum blood flow to enter the penis, leading to bigger, harder erections. Every pump system includes a sizing option. If you are unsure of your size, you can select your measurements, and we will select the best size for you. As most men are a size medium, if you do not choose a size, we will ship you the medium size. This size fits 5 - 5.5 inches erect circumference, and up to 7.25 inches in length. If you wish to buy a pump sleeve, you can choose from a few we offer.

I outgrew my pump system, what should I do?

  • It is very common to outgrow your penis pump after following Dr. Kaplan’s pumping guidelines for a few months. You can purchase larger pump cylinders individually, without having to buy a whole new pump system.

What is the difference between the First Expansion Cylinder, the Second Expansion Cylinder, and the E.D. Cylinder?

  • The First Expansion Cylinder is the primary cylinder used to enhance your erection. This cylinder will help you achieve an erection, and will also bring more blood flow to your natural erection, making it bigger and harder. The Second Expansion Cylinder is designed to further maximize your length gains, by gently tugging on the suspensory ligament in the back of the penis. This cylinder is bigger because you pump both your penis and testicles together, while flaccid, at a very low pressure. The E.D. Cylinder is specially designed to help maintain an erection for sex if you have problems holding your erection. The rimless design allows you to slide a constriction ring from the cylinder, onto the base of your penis, once you have achieved an erection for sex in the cylinder. After you remove the pump cylinder, the erection will be held in place by the constriction ring.

How do I use the Head Enlarger Cylinder?

  • The Head Enlarger fits up to 5.25 inches in erect head circumference. Most men find it easier to obtain suction by wrapping their index finger and thumb around the base of the cylinder, where it meets at the ridge, right under the penis head.

I am having trouble getting suction with my pump system. What should I do?

  • If you cannot maintain pressure in the cylinder, this is likely because you do not have a complete vacuum seal. Air is entering into the cylinder. Step 1: Ensure your skin has complete contact with the cylinder. Pubic hair may interfere. We recommend trimming or shaving. Step 2: We recommend lubricating the bottom of the cylinder and the base of your penis. This will prevent air from entering and assist in creating a complete vacuum seal, and will help avoid skin irritation. Only use water-based lubricant as other lubricants are difficult to wash and will damage the cylinder over time. Step 3: If you have the wrong size cylinder, this may prevent you from obtaining a complete vacuum seal. You may need to get a different sized cylinder.

I think my pump system is defective. How can I test the pump?

  • If you cannot maintain pressure in the cylinder, and you are sure you have a complete vacuum seal, your pump or cylinder may be defective. Test Your Pump: Disconnect the pump and hosing from the cylinder. Place your thumb over and completely cover the Pump Connector at the end of the hose (which should still be connected to the pump’s Front Nozzle.) With your other hand, pump up the pressure. If the gauge shows it is not holding pressure, the pump is defective. If the pump can maintain pressure, see below. Test Your Cylinder: Connect the pump and hosing to the cylinder. Place the cylinder on a larger, smooth surface on your body, such as your stomach. Press the cylinder down gently so all sides make contact with your skin. Use the pump to increase pressure in the cylinder. If you cannot maintain pressure, air may be entering into the cylinder. Check that the Cylinder Connector at the top of the cylinder is completely screwed in, and look for cracks in your cylinder. Your cylinder may be defective.

I have some swelling and bruising when pumping. What am I doing wrong?

  • When pumping, use low pressure at the beginning of your session. Wait for blood flow to enter the penis, then gradually raise the pressure. If you are experiencing discoloration, swelling, bruising, or numbness, the vacuum pressure inside the cylinder is too high. Immediately release or lower the pressure inside the cylinder. These side effects from “over-pumping” are temporary and will subside in a few days. Wait for these side effects to subside before continuing to use the pump systems.

What is the average size of a man's erect penis?

  • The average erect penis measures approximately 5-7 inches long and 5 - 5.5 inches around (in girth).
